Ed Sullivan's Caravan of Stars

Date:
Saturday, 24 March 2012 - 7:30pm

The Ed Sullivan Show was the longest running variety series in television history running from 1948-71. Hosted by the awkward and bumbling former newspaperman, the show became a Sunday night institution on CBS. The legendary Ed Sullivan entertained tv audiences for twenty-three years. He knew what his audience wanted to see.
He was called "the great stone face" on screen, although he was a passionate man offstage. He was the talent scout for the entire country and introduced more than 10,000 performers throughout his career. His show introduced America to all forms of entertainment, from juggling to opera.

The Ed Sullivan Caravan of Stars is an incredible salute to some of the great entertainers like "Buddy Holly", "Elvis", "Roy Orbison", "Little Richard"," Jerry Lee Lewis", "Everly Brothers" and many more. Larry Merchison headlines this Legends Of Rock'n'Roll show.  Tonight's show will feature the young Elvis, the Everly Brothers, the Big Bopper, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ricky Nelson and Eddie Cochrane.
